Rally Against Gun Violence Held At Pennsylvania State Capitol

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Dozens of people are in Pennsylvania's Capitol demanding action against the rising gun violence. A rally against gun violence is underway on the steps of the state capitol.

The group, CeaseFirePA has named Tuesday Taking a Stand Against Gun Violence Advocacy Day. CBS3 was at Jones Tabernacle AME Church in North Philadelphia Tuesday morning where people taking part in the rally boarded a bus for Harrisburg.

They are calling for increased funding for community-based violence prevention programs and a common agenda to end gun violence.

More than 100 faith, community, medical, student and gun safety organizations are taking part in calling for action to address the surging gun violence in Philadelphia.

Gov. Tom Wolf is also among the lawmakers expected to attend the rally.
