Philly Soccer Show: Leo Fernandes

By Greg Orlandini

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- He's one of the hottest players in Major League Soccer right now, and he plays for the Philadelphia Union.

Midfielder Leo Fernades is the guest on this week's KYW Philly Soccer Show!   He joins KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch in the studio to discuss his recent form.

Fernandes was named Philly Soccer Page player of the week twice so far, as well as making the Sports Illustrated "Team of the Week" two weeks in a row.

He talks about the hard work he put in during the off-season to be ready for this year. He also talks about the strong on-field relationship he has shown with teammate Sebastien Le Toux, each assisting on the other's first goals this year.

We also talk about the tough loss the Union suffered last week against Columbus. The Union was the strong team for stretches in that match, but two goals from Bernardo Añor, including a 35-yard blast, proved the difference in the 2-1 defeat (see game story).

The Union's next opponent is the Montreal Impact, who visit PPL Park this Saturday.
