Philly Soccer Show: Curtin, Union Set For U.S. Open Cup Final Action

By Greg Orlandini

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- We're back! After a couple of weeks off, the KYW Philly Soccer Show returns with a preview of tonight's U.S. Open Cup Final, as the Union take on Sporting KC at PPL Park. KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with Philadelphia Union coach Jim Curtin as he readies his team to face KC.

The Union made it to the final last year only to go down in heartbreaking fashion to the Seattle Sounders 3-1, again at PPL. The coach played it characteristically close to the vest when talking about the starting goalkeeper for the final.

John McCarthey has played throughout the Cup competition, but Andre Blake is coming off a massive game in New England. He had 10 saves as the Union drew with the Revs 1-1. Curtin says the Cup is very important to the team and could be a launching pad for future success.
