Philly Soccer Blog: Philadelphia Union Head Coach About New Acquisition

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two big names in and a Philadelphia Union legend leaves, and the KYW Philly Soccer has it all for you.

KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer page writer Mike Servedio are join by Union head coach Jim Curtin. The topic on everyone's mind of course is the acquisition of two US National Team vets Alejandro Bedoya and Charlie Davies.

The New Jersey-born Bedoya comes with much fanfare, having wrapped up a long run playing in Europe, most recently for Nantes in France's Ligue 1. The versatile midfielder can help the team at several positions on the field. Davies, coming to Philly after a transfer with the New England Revolution, will add some much needed depth to the forward position.

The team also said goodbye (for the second time in his career) to team legend Sebastien Le Toux who was sent to Colorado Rapids for cash.

Curtin talks about the new signings and how they will contribute to the team. We also talk about injuries and the team hopes to see the return of midfielder Maurice Edu as his fellow mid Brian Carroll looks to miss some time with a foot injury.
