Philly Soccer Blog: Derrick Jones Joins Philadelphia Union

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A tough loss for the Philadelphia Union on the road but a new player comes into the fold.

The KYW Philly Soccer Show sits down with Union technical director Chris Albright this week. KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Mike Servedio talk with former US National Team player Albright to talk about the signing of Derrick Jones.

The Ghanaian Jones signed to the Union as a homegrown player, going through the team's academy and most recently playing for Bethlehem Steel, the team's USL affiliate. Albright describes Jones as a box-to-box midfielder who will help the team in the future.

Albright also talks about if the team will make another player signing before the transfer window closes next week.

Then, Greg and Mike talk about the team's tough loss in Montreal Impact last Saturday. They went down to the Canadian club 5-1, as legendary striker Didier Drogba scored a hat trick against Philly.

Also, the MLS All Star Game is tonight with goalkeeper Andre Blake and defender Keegan Rosenberry are representing the Union as the All Stars face off against English Premier Team Arsenal.
