Philly Ranked Top 10 Cities With Most Rats

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Cheesesteaks.... Rocky... and now rats? Historically, Philadelphia isn't known for its rat population but pest experts may argue maybe it should be.

Pest control company, Orkin, released their "Top 50 Rattiest Cities" list just in time for the start of rodent season and The City of Brotherly Love is among the top 10.

The cities were ranked based on the number of rodent treatments -- both commercial and residential -- performed from October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. Philly comes in at #7 so it would appear they are only slightly more infested than the metro area of Minneapolis-St. Paul, ranked eighth.

Topping the list is Chicago, who also won the title in 2014. New York and D.C. follow right behind at #2 and #3.

Pittsburgh is further down the list at #18.

If you don't do rats you may want to consider moving to nearby New Jersey or Delaware since none of their cities made the list at all.
