Philly Ranked Second Best Region To Bike In U.S.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Only one place in America is better to bike in than Philadelphia.

According to a ValuePenguin study, where 200 regions were analyzed in three different biking categories, only Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington was rated as a better biking area than Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington.

The study was broken down into three categories using 16 data points from various sources. The three categories in the study were: roads and trails, riders and bicycles, safety and weather.

On its own, Philly came in as the fifth-best city for park access.

The bicycle commuting in the U.S. grew by 62%, according to the League of American Bicyclists via ValuePenguin.com, from 2000 to 2014.
