Philly Prosecutor: AG Kane Got Emails

HARRISBURG, Pa., (CBS) -- A stunning allegation today that Attorney General Kathleen Kane herself has received some of the offensive emails that are rocking state government. The accusation came after a Philadelphia state representative entered a plea of no contest to an ethics violation stemming from a sting case shut down by Kane.

Philadelphia House Democrat Louise Bishop received six months probation and is resigning her office as a result of a no contest plea to one offense. But her plea only came after her lawyer withdrew a motion seeking to prove Attorney General Kathleen Kane's allegations that Bishop and others were victims of racial targeting. Her lawyer told the judge that freshly unsealed grand jury documents show that Kane's claim cannot be proven. It was in interviews afterward that Assistant Philadelphia DA Mark Gilson was asked about the email scandal involving prosecutors now working for the Philadelphia DA's office.

"When is Kathleen Kane going to release the 58 emails that her sister got… or the 11 that were forwarded to her? What about those emails?"

Kane's twin sister is a prosecutor in the Attorney General's office. Gilson called on Kane to release all emails in her possession.
