Philly Police Arrest 1 Suspect Accused Of More Than 20 Armed Robberies; 2nd Suspect Remains At Large

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police have arrested one of two suspects accused of more than 20 armed robberies in the northwest section of the city.
Officials announced Wednesday morning 23-year-old Yasim Lowman had been arrested in Northwest Philadelphia.
He was found after Springfield Township Police reported a vehicle used in an armed robbery at a Lukoil gas station on Bethlehem Pike on around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say the suspects fled in a dark-colored Volkswagen down Bethlehem Pike toward Philadelphia.
Philadelphia police later located the vehicle near Lowman's house.
Police are still searching for the second suspect.
Police say the pair has robbed six MetroPCS's, five Rite Aids, and four Family Dollar locations, among others, since August.
"They're pretty quick, come right in announce the robbery and go right for the cash, sometimes they ask for the safe but trying to get as much money obviously as they can," said Capt. Malachi Jones with the Northwest Detective Division.
Police are asking anyone who might have information to please come forward.
