Philly Burger Brawl Goes Beyond The Bun
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Dozens of Philadelphia restaurants faced off for a good cause Sunday in the 6th annual Burger Brawl outside XFINITY Live!.
While burgers are still the main attraction…
"We're serving a beautiful burger that is topped with faux gras butter, caramelized onions, panchetta and bleu cheese," this vendor says.
…this year the TacoTakedown was part of the fight.
"We're doing lamb barbacoa tacos with a mint balsamic, pico de gallo, Mexican crema and anaconda
Josh says he loves coming to this event each year, and the food is just part of the reason:
" I enjoy the sunshine and the atmosphere. There's a lot of people out here, you get to see different faces."
Rob Wasserman is the event's cofounder. He says proceeds go towards literacy programs in Philadelphia public schools:
"I'm awe struck. I'm just trying to help the community and it takes a lot of people to put an event on like this."
Pineville Tavern won the judge's choice for best burger and Lolita won the judge's choice for best taco.
