Phillies Wrap Up Long Series With Mets

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will wrap up this long five game series with the Mets, as well as an 11-game home stand, tonight.

Phillies are 4-6 on the homestand and they have dropped three out of four in this series with New York. The last three games have gone extra innings. The Phillies won, 6-5, in 14 innings on Friday. New York then grabbed a 5-4, 14-inning decision on Saturday and they also won on Sunday in 11-innings, 4-3.

Roberto Hernandez will make the start for the Phillies. The veteran right-hander is 2-2 with a 3.76 ERA. Last time out against Colorado he got a no-decision, allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings of work. All three of his career appearances (one start)  against the Mets have come this season. In six innings, he has allowed one run.

The Mets will counter with veteran Bartolo Colon. The 41-year-old right-hander is 4-5 this season with a 4.73 ERA. In five career starts against the Phillies, Colon is 1-2 with a 4.65 ERA.

The Phillies are 24-30 this season. They are alone in last in the National League East, six games out of first.  The Mets are 27-29, that's good for fourth in the division, they are four games out of first.
