Phillies Sign LHP James Russell To Minor-League Deal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies have signed left-handed pitcher James Russell to a minor-league contract on Thursday, according to the team.

Russell, 29, was 0-2 with a 5.29 ERA in 49 appearances for the Chicago Cubs last season. Russell is 10-18 with a 3.90 ERA and four saves in 387 games with the Cubs (2010-15) and Atlanta Braves (2014).
