Phillies Place John Mayberry Jr. On DL; Recall Darin Ruf

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Phillies made a roster move just prior to tonight's game against the Giants. The team has placed outfielder John Mayberry Jr. on the 15-day disabled list due to left wrist inflammation.

Mayberry has a .213 average on the season with six home runs and 21 RBIs.

In response, the team has recalled outfielder/first baseman Darin Ruf to the major league club from triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Ruf will be available to play for the Phillies tonight.
