Girlfriend Drops Complaint Against Phillies' Odubel Herrera, Judge Dismisses Case
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Domestic violence charges have been dismissed against Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera. Herrera appeared in an Atlantic City municipal courtroom around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He was charged with simple assault for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend inside the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino on May 27.
His girlfriend dropped her complaint and the judge dismissed the case.

Prosecutors say since this incident happened inside a hotel room and the girlfriend was the only witness there was not enough evidence for them to proceed with an independent case.
Herrera did not answer questions before or after the court hearing.

He has 60 days to complete the counseling he is enrolled in or prosecutors may reopen the case. It is unclear what type of counseling it is at this time.

The MLB put Herrera on administrative leave until at least Friday.
There is no word from the league on their investigation at this time.
