Phillies vs. Giants postponed due to forecasted rain hours after start time moved up
Wednesday's Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants game has been postponed due to inclement weather. The postponement comes hours after the club moved up the initial 6:40 p.m. start time by 30 minutes.
The game will be made up on Thursday as part of a split doubleheader.
The Phillies say fans with tickets to Wednesday's game will be admitted to the makeup game Thursday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 p.m., and gates will open at 4:35 p.m., pending the end of Game 1.
The originally scheduled game for Thursday was moved up by 30 minutes. It was scheduled for 1:05 p.m., but will now start at 12:35 p.m. Gates will open at 11:35 a.m.
Philadelphia moved the start time to 6:10 p.m. shortly after 2 p.m. because of forecasted rain. The third base/left field gates opened at 4:40 p.m., and all other gates opened at 5:10 p.m.
The Phillies shut out the Giants, 7-0, on Tuesday in Don Mattingly's first game as interim manager after the club fired Rob Thomson.
