Phillies Fans Want Darin Ruf To Play In Favor Of Domonic Brown

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Last October, Phillies outfielder Domonic Brown showed up in a Cowboys jersey at an Eagles vs. Cowboys game at Lincoln Financial Field. It was the hot topic among Philadelphia sports fans at the time. Many were angered by Brown's decision to flaunt and tweet about being a Cowboys fan, while the vast majority said as long as he performs on the field for the Phillies it wouldn't matter.

Well, Brown isn't producing and Phillies fans are quickly turning on him. In Friday's Audio Roadshow poll question on the WIP Morning Show, 97 percent of fans voted in favor of Darin Ruf taking over for Brown.

Brown is struggling mightily in 2014, hitting only .200 with three home runs, six doubles, and 22 RBI's through 51 games. Brown, an all-star in 2013 with the bulk of his production coming in May, is ranked as the 11th least valuable player in the MLB over the last year. 

Ruf, 27, only has nine plate appearances this season after hitting 14 home runs in 73 games in 2013. Ruf is a primarily a first baseman, but can also play the outfield.
