Phillies Fall To Tampa Bay Rays 5-3

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Alex Cobb was removed for precautionary reasons because of right forearm tightness after tossing three perfect innings in Tampa Bay's 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.

Cobb said the injury isn't serious. The right-hander is expected to be the Rays' opening day starter.

Logan Forsythe hit a pair of opposite-field solo homers, and Mikie Mahtook hit a two-run shot for the Rays.

Phillies starter David Buchanan threw four sharp innings, allowing one run, two hits and striking out six.

Forsythe connected off Phillippe Aumont on a 3-2 pitch in the fifth and drove a 1-1 pitch off Elvis Araujo out to right in the seventh.

Asdrubal Cabrera hit an RBI single off Buchanan in the fourth.

Mahtook took Hector Neris deep to left in the eighth.
