Phillies Look For 4th Straight In Atlanta Behind Eickhoff
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look for a fourth straight win tonight as they continue their road trip with another game in Atlanta against the Braves.
The Phillies opened this series last night by beating Atlanta, 3-2. Adam Morgan pitched his best game of the season, allowing just a run on four hits in seven innings of work to improve to 1-0.
Tonight the Phillies give the ball to right-hander Jerad Eickhoff. He is 1-4 with a 4.21 ERA. In his last start he lost to the Cardinals, allowing three runs in six innings of work.
Eickhoff's made one start in his career against the Braves. It came last September 19th, and he pitched seven shutout innings in Atlanta, but got a no decision in a game the Phillies eventually lost, 2-1.
The Braves were originally going to throw RHP Jhoulys Chacin tonight, but today they traded the veteran to the Angels. So the Phillies are now expected to face a RHP named Williams Perez, he has split his season so far between the Braves and Triple-A (0-0, 5.11 ERA with the Braves).
The Phillies are 19-14 this season. The Braves are just 7-24 (1-16 in Atlanta).
