We've had a slow go this morning with pockets of rain moving through the entire region, but improvement is on the way.
Skies will clear and sunshine is likely by the afternoon hours, but it will be noticeably cooler this afternoon as well, with temperatures holding in the upper 60s until the sun goes down and then most spots dropping into the 40s late tonight into Thursday morning.
The rest of the week looks dry and cool, thanks to high pressure building back in. High temperatures Thursday afternoon will be in the low-middle 60s, with Thursday night likely being the chilliest so far this season.
Temperatures on Saturday are close to normal, but clouds will increase as a system moves along the coast of the Carolinas.
Looking ahead, there's growing potential for a coastal low to develop to our south and bring some unsettled weather by the weekend, most notably Sunday, but the details remain uncertain — something to keep an eye on as the forecast becomes clearer.
