Masks Will Be Optional For Students, Staff In Philadelphia School District Starting Monday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Starting Monday, masks will be optional for students and staff in the Philadelphia School District. The district required masks last week after students returned from spring break.

Philadelphia scrapped its renewed indoor mask mandate on Friday. The order lasted only four days.

City health officials say they lifted the mandate because of an unexpected decrease in hospitalizations, and a leveling off of cases.
