Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett Receives Valor Award

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia Police officer was honored for his bravery on the job.

Officer Jesse Hartnett received the department's Sergeant Robert Wilson Valor Award.

Hartnett was shot several times last January when he was ambushed in his patrol car in Cobbs Creek.

Despite the fact he was shot, Officer Hartnett managed to shoot the suspect.

"It's very nice to be appreciated and receive an award for something like this. A lot of officers go unrecognized for jobs they do every
day."
