Philadelphia Police Department Establishes Trust Fund For Family Of Officer Killed

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police say members of its department have established a trust fund for the family of Robert Wilson III, who was killed in the line of duty Thursday afternoon.

Wilson, who was buying a gift for his son as a reward for good grades, was shot and killed during a shootout with two suspects who were trying to rob a video game store in North Philadelphia.

Police say Wilson leaves behind two children, a eight-year-old boy and a one-year-old, and his grandmother.

Authorities say anyone who would like to make a donation can do so in person at the following PFFCU branches:
