Philadelphia Police Captain Injured After Being Struck By ATV

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Officials say a Philadelphia police captain was injured over the weekend after he was struck by an all-terrain vehicle during a chase.

Police say the incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday near Bridge and East Thompson streets in Philadelphia's Bridesburg section.

The captain, who suffered minor leg injuries, did not seek medical attention.

The rider of the black ATV was last seen headed south on Brill Street and was still on the loose as of Sunday night.

Officers rushed into a nearby 7-Eleven store to see if any surveillance cameras captured the suspect on film. Employees informed the officers that the store only had internal cameras.

Police are searching for a white male, approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing 170 pounds, who wore a faded orange shirt, jeans and Timberland boots.
