Hundreds of flights delayed or canceled Sunday at Philadelphia International Airport
Hundreds of flights in and out of Philadelphia International Airport are canceled or delayed Sunday after a winter storm moved through the region. In an X post, PHL Airport said travelers should check with their airlines for the latest information.
According to FlightAware, more than 430 flights are delayed and 79 are canceled at PHL as of 8:20 p.m.
Power outages impact thousands of customers
At one point Sunday, more than 10,000 customers across the region's energy companies were without power Sunday. That number has improved after the winter storm moved of the Philly region.
As of 8:20 p.m., here's how many customers don't have power several hours after the heaviest snow moved out the region:
- PECO: 864
- PPL: 54
- Delmarva Power: 191
- PSE&G: 359
- Atlantic City Electric: 2,290
PennDOT lifts speed limit restrictions on highways around Philadelphia
PennDOT temporarily reduced speeds on several highways in the Philadelphia area due to the winter storm Sunday morning.
By noon, all speed limit restrictions were lifted on I-76, I-95, I-295, I-476 and I-676, along with other roads in the area. All highways are back to their posted speed limits, and PennDOT says crews will continue to treat roads until they're clear.
I-81 in Schuylkill County remains on a reduced speed of 55 mph.
PennDOT lifted speed limit restrictions on I-78, US 22 and PA Route 33 earlier in the morning.
