PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As "Rocky, The Musical" opens on Broadway this evening, the agency that markets Philadelphia to tourists is setting up "Rocky" tours of Philadelphia, geared toward theatergoers and Rocky fans.

Cara Schneider, an executive with Visit Philadelphia, says the new "Rocky" Broadway musical has brought a renewed interest in places where the original movie was filmed 38 years ago.

"It was an easy pitch," she says.  "People love Rocky, they appreciate the story, they know that it's a Philly thing.  They are very surprised at how different the city looks but still maintains that heart and spirit that was in the original film."

Schneider says you can purchase Rocky tours of Philadelphia or do a self-guided tour with suggestions from the Visit Philly web site.

"I mean, Rocky covers what we love about this city," Schneider tells KYW Newsradio.  "He covers the neighborhoods, he covers the beautiful vista that is the (Benjamin Franklin) Parkway, he lives under the el.  There are just so many parts of Rocky's life that people still today love."
