Philadelphia Murder Suspect Arrested In Florida

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- U.S. Marshals have chased down and arrested a Philadelphia murder suspect in Florida.

It happened on Tuesday afternoon in Orange Park, Florida. Silvestre del Rosario with the U.S. Marshals says they got a tip from up north.

"We got information from the U.S. Marshals out in Philadelphia that a homicide fugitive from Philadelphia was in the Jacksonville area," says del Rosario.

And police say the suspect was 28-year-old Kayree Reid, wanted for the fatal shooting of a man inside of a Mantua grocery store on November 10th.

Investigators say they found Reid Tuesday evening and when they went to arrest him, he was in the passenger seat of a car, the driver sped off with a baby in the back seat, and a chase ensued.

Authorities say the pursuit came to an end after the driver slammed into a couple of police cars.

Reid and the driver were arrested. The driver is being charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and endangerment of a child.

No one was hurt in the pursuit and the baby is now in the custody of the mother.
