Philadelphia Looks To Smash Record For Largest Bar Crawl

By Paul Kurtz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's last call for what could be the world's largest bar crawl.  Philadelphia attempts to enter the record book this weekend.

A couple of local social web sites, Philly2night and Upcoming Events are instigating this attempt to shatter the Guinness world record for a bar crawl of 4,800 held by held Kansas City, Missouri.

Spokesman Ray Sheehan says they're shooting for 15,000.

"This bar crawl will actually be spread across all of Philadelphia. I'm talking East Passyunk Avenue, Old City, Northern Liberties, Rittenhouse, Fairmount. What's so nice about this is you don't have to hang out in one area, you can actually jump from neighborhood to neighborhood and that's how we're going to execute this," Sheehan says.

Dozens of bars and taverns are involved. Tickets are still on sale at TheCrawl.com. Ten dollars for general admission and $25 for VIP.  This is a marathon, not a sprint -- running tomorrow from 12 noon until 8pm.
