Philadelphia International Airport Ups Its Food Game At Terminal B

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's celebrity chefs will soon be setting up shop at Philadelphia International Airport's Terminal B.

Chelli Cameron, CEO of Philadelphia International Airport, says changes are coming to Terminal B.

"The restaurants are going to be embedded in the hold rooms, so the area that you go to to wait for your plane, you're going to have tables and seats right there," Cameron says. "And we'll redo a certain number of gate areas at once and they'll come back brand new and ready to go with the iPads and the new restaurants and then we'll move onto the next phase."

And they've brought in a whole bunch of Philadelphia celebrity chefs, like Kevin Sbraga, to consult on some of these airport restaurants.

"Yeah, I think it's one thing for the Philadelphia food scene, but I think it's another thing for the travelers," Sbraga said. "The ones that can't get into Philadelphia to eat, now they'll be able to experience Philadelphia right there in the airport beyond cheesesteaks."

"It's obviously designed very well," said chef Nick Elmi. "It's going to bring a tremendous amount of energy to the airport, so I'm very, very happy to be on board."

Renovations will begin shortly and are expected to be complete in about 18 to 24 months.
