Philadelphia Dodges Bullet With Friday Storm

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A large and potent storm has been responsible for several days of severe weather, not to mention significant snow for the central portion of the U.S. However, the Delaware Valley will only have to endure a nuisance.
It's a dreary Friday. As we await the arrival of the strong cold front associated with this storm, we remain stuck under copious cloud cover. Plus we'll be dodging scattered showers and drizzle. Meanwhile, a persistent onshore flow keeps it chilly with temperatures no warmer than the low 50's.

Tonight, the front moves through, likely with a rumble of thunder. Tomorrow clears out quickly, but it IS windy in the wake of the front as high pressure tries to take the place of low. Saturday's high should warm up to 60 degrees with sunshine. Sunday looks BEAUTIFUL! Expect bright sun and a high of 61.
By Monday, a new moisture-rich system heads our way, especially for the 2nd half of the day. So yes, there is a good chance the Phillies home opener will feature some steady rain for at least part of the game. Prepare your poncho!
