'You Are So Philly:' City Council Honors National Champion Wildcats

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The honors keep coming for Villanova's men's basketball team.

On Thursday, Philadelphia City Council honored the national champions with a proclamation.

Council members acknowledged Villanova isn't actually part of its jurisdiction but, as Councilman Curtis Jones put it:

"You are so Philly."

Players and coach were happy to take on the city mantle.

Forward Daniel Ochefu spoke for the team:

"We're just extremely proud to represent Philadelphia."

Coach Jay Wright made particular note of the parade:

"To put that together that quickly and for it to run so efficiently, to see the mayor and all the members of city council; the Philadelphia police were amazing. We were very impressed and very honored."

City council seemed almost as honored to have the team personally accept the proclamation -- posing for pictures with them, holding the game ball and admiring the trophy.
