Philadelphia Brewing Company Continuing Trend Of Pope-Inspired Beers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Not to be outdone by the Cape May Brewing Company's Pope-inspired offering, "Y.O.P.O," The Philadelphia Brewing Company will soon make their own Holy Father brew available to the masses.

Coming soon to beer-drinkers in the area is Holy Wooder.

The company unveiled the beer on their Instagram page on Tuesday as a draft only, Belgian style Tripel.

Holy Wooder "guarantees to cleanse your soul and set you on the path to righteousness," the post reads.

The company says the beer will be available this September ahead of the Papal Visit.

The growing trend has led to many of the area breweries making their own special brews to honor the Pope's visit. In addition to Y.O.P.O and Holy Wooder, there is Papal Pleasure by Manayunk Brewing Company and Jesus Wept made by Crime and Punishment Brewing Company.
