4 Persons Of Interest Being Questioned In Connection With Center City Rape

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police sources tell CBS3 that four persons of interest are being questioned in connection with a Center City rape after a raid at a home at 8th and Moore Streets.

Philadelphia police released new surveillance video and police sketches in the hopes that they would lead them to the man who grabbed a 26-year-old woman in her Rittenhouse Square neighborhood early Saturday and forced her into her apartment, where he raped and robbed her.

Police the attack took place in the 1900 block of Spruce Street around 1:20am Saturday morning, as the victim walked home from the Ladder 15 Tavern.

On the video, a man comes up behind the woman and grabs her, forcibly walking her up the street and into her building.

Police say that after the man sexually assaulted the victim, he took her phone and house keys, and left but returned a short time later. Police are withholding some additional details.

According to investigators, the suspect is Hispanic, 25-30 years old, 5' 6" to 5' 9" tall, about 150 lbs., with a thin build and black, slicked-back hair.  He was clad in a black t-shirt, dark ball cap, and jeans, carrying a black messenger bag.

Police say he arrived at the scene on a bike, which he chained to a street sign before grabbing the victim from behind. 

On Monday afternoon, sources told Eyewitness News that four men were being questioned in connection with the rape. Three men and one bike were picked up from the house at 8th and Moore, and a fourth man and his bike from Broad and Christian Streets.

All four men reportedly live at the home that was raided.
