PFF Ranks Eagles Rookie Jordan Hicks As 4th Best Linebacker

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jordan Hicks was supposed to be eased into professional football.

However, the rookie linebacker was catapulted into the Eagles' starting lineup due to injuries. And Hicks, a third-round pick out of Texas, has been impressive. So much so, Pro Football Focus grades Hicks as a top-five linebacker in the NFL through five games.

With Mychal Kendricks out with a hamstring injury and Kiko Alonso out with a knee injury, Hicks found himself making his first NFL start in Week 3 against the Jets. Just five games into his NFL career, Hicks has already tallied 27 tackles, three fumble recoveries, a sack, a forced fumble, an interception, and two pass breakups.

The other four top graded PFF linebackers thus far include Seattle's K.J. Wright, Dallas' Sean Lee, Minnesota's Anthony Barr, and Denver's Brandon Marshall.
