Person Struck By Train In Delaware County

DARBY, Pa. (CBS) – Rail service was suspended along SEPTA's Wilmington-Newark Line after a person was hit by a train in Delaware County.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday near the Sharon Hill station.

The male who was struck was taken to the hospital. There's no word on his condition.

SEPTA says about 500 passengers were aboard the train at the time of the accident. None of the passengers were injured.

Regional Rail service resumed around 7:40 p.m. on the Wilmington-Newark Regional Rail Line.

Amtrak reported delays up to an hour on some trains between Philadelphia and Wilmington, but a spokeswoman says things are back to normal.

An investigation is ongoing.
