Pennsylvania Toddler Shoots Self In Leg As Mom, Boyfriend Shower

MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a 2-year-old Pennsylvania boy found a handgun and shot himself in the leg while his mother and her boyfriend were showering.

Investigators say the toddler took the .45-caliber gun from an upstairs bedroom at the boyfriend's Montoursville home Thursday and was playing with it as he watched cartoons downstairs.

Police say the bullet lodged in the boy's back. They say he was conscious and talking before surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

No charges have been filed.

Montoursville police are investigating.
