Pennsylvania State Trooper Shoots Suspect Near I-95 In Delaware County Following Chase, Police Say

The suspect is recovering at Crozer Chester Medical Center after he was shot in the leg. Police say he was wanted for a probation violation.
It was a chaotic scene in Chester Tuesday afternoon after the Highland Avenue off ramp near I-95 South became the scene of a police-involved shooting investigation. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a trooper was attempting to pull over a gold Ford Taurus just after 1:30 p.m. for a traffic violation.
The 29-year-old driver, of Modena, would not pull over and a chase ensured, according to police. State police say the trooper used his vehicle to try to prevent the man from re-entering the highway.
Once both vehicles stopped, the trooper fired his weapon, striking the suspect in the leg.
The highway was shut down for three hours. The suspect was wanted out of Chester County for a probation violation stemming from a forgery charge.
Police have not released the identity of the man or his condition, but they say additional charges are expected.
