Pennsylvania School For The Deaf Staffers Vote For Union Representation

By Mike DeNardo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Staffers at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf have overwhelmingly voted to unionize.

Teachers and support staff today voted 149-12 to be represented by the American Federation of Teachers.

Teachers at the school in Germantown said they wanted more of a say over working conditions.

The school administration said it would continue to focus on student success, whichever way the vote turned out.
