Cops: Pennsylvania Man Held Girlfriend Captive, Poured Bleach In Her Eyes

LATROBE, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a Pennsylvania man held his girlfriend captive for more than three days, during which he hit her with a hammer, pulled out her hair, and poured bleach in her eyes and wounds.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 43-year-old Glenn Whittier, of Latrobe.

The woman was taken to a hospital after police say she escaped Saturday morning, where her condition wasn't immediately available.

But police say the woman told them Whittier banged her with the hammer and had bite marks, bruises, cuts and a "large amount" of hair pulled from her head.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Whittier.

He remained in the Westmoreland County Prison Wednesday awaiting a preliminary hearing March 23 on charges including aggravated assault and unlawful restraint.
