PennDOT Getting Ready As Winter Storm Closes In On Area

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With another winter storm on the way, PennDOT is gearing up for what could be a long night of work.

An official plan of attack won't be set until a little later this afternoon, but spokesman Brad Rudolph says PennDOT's efforts are already underway:

"We will be brining today, some counties this morning, some throughout the day. So we will be pre-treating the roads for sure."

Rudolph says they're hopeful that the rain won't move in until after some snow has fallen, so that Brine can do it's job before being washed away.

He adds PennDOT has more than 400 plow trucks ready to roll for the storm if needed, but as always, they need drivers to do their part as well:

"Drivers be cautious, and if you don't have to travel don't travel, and just be patient."

Snow is expected to start falling late tonight.
