Penn State's James Franklin Returns To Yankee Stadium For First Pitch

NEW YORK, N.Y (CBS) -- Yankee Stadium is obviously a venue that has and will continue to produce special baseball memories, but it also holds a special place in the memory of Penn State Football fans. The Nittany Lions defeated Boston College there in the Pinstripe Bowl last season.

The game marked a return to bowl play for a team that lost that right following the fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Penn State head coach James Franklin returned to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night to throw out the first pitch on the field that holds a special memory for him and his program.

Franklin will look to continue to lead the Penn State football program back to prominence as he prepares for his second season.
