Penn Falls To Monmouth, 71-56

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Deon Jones made 6 of 8 field goals and finished with 17 points to lead Monmouth (N.J.) to a 71-56 win over Pennsylvania on Wednesday night.

Max DiLeo had 12 points, all coming in the first half, including 2-of-3 shooting from 3-point range and Collin Stewart added 12 points for Monmouth (10-9). The Hawks shot 50 percent (5 of 10) from behind the 3-point line and had 11 steals to Penn's five.

DiLeo hit a 3-pointer and had a dunk in the final minute of the first half to give Monmouth a 41-22 lead.

Matt Howard scored 14 points and Darrien Nelson-Henry added 12 points and six rebounds for the Quakers (4-10).

Howard's jumper shrunk the Hawks' lead to 11 with three minutes left in the game, but Monmouth scored seven straight to hold on.
