Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Mercer County

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Police in South Jersey say one person was injured and a dog killed in an accident on Monday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of Clarksville Road in West Windsor Township for an accident.

The driver, 35-year-old Hilary Spearman, of Ewing, remained at the scene of the crash; however, Spearman was reportedly taken into custody and charged with assault by auto and other motor vehicle offenses.

The victim, 55-year-old Chun Yu, of West Windsor Township, was taken to a Trenton area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Yu's dog did not survive the crash.

The road was shut down for about an hour and a half after the incident but has since reopened.

Police say the alcohol was not a factor in the accident and Spearman was released on bail.
