Pedestrian Struck And Killed Along Roosevelt Boulevard In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle along Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. at the Boulevard and Harbison Avenue.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle did stop at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.

Police say alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the accident.

All southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard were blocked for several hours between Tyson and Bustleton Avenues as a result of the accident.
