Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car Along Black Horse Pike

MOUNT EPHRAIM, N.J. (CBS) -- A pedestrian died after being struck by a car along a busy roadway in South Jersey late Tuesday night.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. along the South Black Horse Pike in Mount Ephraim.

According to investigators, the victim was crossing the street when they were struck by a passing car. The victim was initially pinned underneath the car. The victim was then transported to Cooper University Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim was not immediately known.

Investigators say the driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating. So far, no charges have been filed.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
