Pedestrian Critically Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver In Gloucester Township
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ. (CBS) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and seriously injured a man as he crossed the road in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.
Authorities say it was around 10 p.m. Sunday when a 23-year-old man, walking along Sicklerville Road near the intersection of Jarvis Road, across from the Strawberry Square Shopping Center, was hit by a car.
The driver of the car did not stop and is believed to have fled on Sicklerville Road towards Route 42.
The pedestrian has been identified as 23-year-old Kevin Trant of Gloucester Township. Trant is listed in critical but stable condition at Cooper University Hospital Trauma Center. His injuries include a broken pelvis, punctured lung, broken right elbow, broken left foot, broken right shoulder and broken vertebrae.
The vehicle is believed to have had sustained significant front end damage and possibly a shattered windshield. No other description of the vehicle was immediately available.
