PATCO: Person Struck By Train In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Service alone the PATCO Speedline into Philadelphia was temporarily suspended Monday after a person was struck by a train.

PATCO officials say the disruption in service began shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday when someone was struck by one of its trains at the station at 8th and Market Streets.

Fire rescue crews were at the scene shortly after the person was struck attempting to extricate the individual. PATCO spokesperson Fran O'Brien has no word on any condition or gender of the victim.

There is no word on when service will fully resume.
