Passengers Evacuate American Airlines Flight Headed To Philly After Report Of Leak

PALM BEACH, FL (CBS/CNN) -- Passengers from an American Airlines flight were forced to evacuate while on the taxiway at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, the Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday afternoon.

The crew of American Airlines Flight 1822 reported a leak, the FAA said, and passengers used emergency slides to get off the plane. The FAA didn't disclose what kind of leak was reported. The flight was bound for Philadelphia.

Images on local television showed two airliners at the end of taxiway with emergency vehicles at the scene.

According to American Airlines, 23 passengers and one flight attendant sustained minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

The plane was carrying 133 passengers and five crew members.

The second plane, a JetBlue flight, didn't have its slides down and later moved to another nearby spot on the tarmac.
