Spokesperson: Chris Christie Was Not Threatened By Passenger Who Was Removed From Flight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Chris Christie experienced a flight delay this morning in San Francisco. The New Jersey governor was on a United Airlines flight destined for Boston when a passenger was removed.

Christie's spokesperson released a statement confirming the governor, an aide and someone from his security detail were on the plane when the traveler was taken off the plane.

The statement follows reports Christie was threatened by a person on board the flight, prompting United officials to deplane passengers.

David Berlind, a passenger on the flight, tweeted his account of what happened.

In a subsequent tweet, Berlind relayed information he said came from Christie's seatmate.

Christie's spokesperson said there was no interaction between the governor and the passenger and that the passenger did not pose any threat, verbal or physical.
