Parade Shoes Unveiled For Miss America Pageant

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The Miss America contestants have unveiled their state-specific shoes to be worn in Saturday's traditional "Show Us Your Shoes" parade.

The shoes were displayed at a news conference Tuesday afternoon, hours before the first of three nights of preliminary competition in Atlantic City.

Several contestants incorporated sports teams into their theme: Miss Washington used Seattle Seahawks colors and a replica of the Super Bowl trophy.

Miss Wisconsin has sleek Milwaukee Brewers boots.

Miss District of Columbia has cherry blossoms, Miss Hawaii has palm trees, and Miss Louisiana has Mardi Gras feathers and coins.

The next Miss America will be crowned in Sunday night's nationally televised finale.
