Papelbon On Being Booed: "I Enjoy It"

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Jonathan Papelbon gave up a 9th inning three-run double to Hunter Pence in a scoreless game on Wednesday night, earning his second loss of the season, just a day after he blew his third save of the season. Papelbon's recent production coupled with his comments as the trade deadline approaches, bought him some lively boos from the fans when he took the mound on Thursday.

"I enjoy it," Papelbon said of the boos. "I just think that it's fun. It just brings a little bit of energy and life to the park, and gives me a little bit of something to look forward to do every day. You've got to be able to take it if you want to dish it out, right? I think that goes both ways for me. It's kind of like a big brother little brother relationship, I would say."

Papelbon went on to close his 24th game of the season, as the Phillies won 2-1 behind a dominating outing by Cole Hamels. Neverthless, it doesn't look like Philadelphia will bat an eyelash if Papelbon is traded.
